Seems like there is a lot of confusion about completeness, CC charges, ECAS states and PER. This is what happens at CIO after your package arrives, and before it is forwarded to your local Visa Office:


Receiving Application

• Completeness check upon receipt
• If complete: proceed to next step
• If incomplete: return application

Assessing the application against Ministerial Instructions

• Ministerial instructions check (if within cap; if one of the 24 NOCs, supported by proper work exp. documents)
• If MI check is positive: next step
• If MI check fails: NER, inform applicant, return fees

Putting an application into process at the CIO

• create a file in GCMS;
• enter “SW1-FED” in the Category field in GCMS;
• cost recover the applicable processing fees and enter confirmation in GCMS;
• record the GCMS file number on the paper file;
• send an acknowledgement of receipt letter to the applicant informing them that their file has been placed into processing and, if applicable, transferred to another office;
• transfer the paper file to the processing office in accordance with existing file transfer policies;
• transfer the electronic file to the processing office in GCMS by making that office the primary office for processing.
• proceed to next step

Assessing the application against minimum requirements

• Checking minimum work experience requirement
• Checking minimum language proficiency requirement
• Checking minimum education requirement
• If all checks are successful, then proceed to next step
• If checks are not successful, refuse application

Assessing the application against selection criteria

• Calculating points, checking if it is at least or over 67
• Equal or greater than 67: forward the entire application, including the
  result of their initial assessment against the
  selection criteria, to the office identified by the
  applicant for processing on the IMM 0008 for a
  final decision.
• Less than 67: make a negative selection decision, record
  the outcome and reasons in GCMS, and send
  a letter to inform the applicant that their
  application has been refused

This is all from operation manual op6c.

Hi,
I am sending my application package to CIC by end of this week. I have a query, actually my place of birth on passport and birth certificate does not match. Would it be a problem for me during processing of application?

Please your valuable and expert point of view is required urgently

you might even get a jail for giving wrong info at the time of applying for passport. Pls dump your Birth cert for ever & never disclose to anybody (even in public forum) such issue.. sshh :-X :-X

I sent my application on July 4th received by marjetty

for FSW 1112 can i expect any update. i think since it is already reached the cap it will be rejected.

how could i check my status my cc is not charged.


i have submitted a application for Permanent residence card (under federal skilled worker category code:1112).
i have sent the application on july 4th 2013. till now i did not get any reply.

at that time cap was 28, now it is 278. Fees was also not deducted from my credit card.

my questions are,
1. does my application got rejected, if yes
will they send any communication and return my documents. how much time it takes.
2. if accepted, how could i expect the communication.

CODE :1112
SENT TO: SYDNEY NS, CANADA (MARJETTY) received it.

They are currently looking at applications early June. Seems the cap for 1112 is already full. I am guessing they will return your application and will not charge you any money ... You never know until your hear back from them though ...
