I am new to this forum.

Today I got an email from my visa office- New Delhi that the application file has been created and now the file will take 72 MONTHS to process. Can the waiting period be so high? That will be too frustrating. The online processing time says 16 months

I could think of the following scenarios in ur case:

1. You applied thru a third party consultant and they might have received the PER mail in their inbox OR

2. If you are self applicant, the PER mail may be sleeping in your Junk/Spam folder. OR

3. If you have not provided any E-mail contact in your application form, CIC will send you the hard copy of PER mail through normal post to your address of communication. This is snail mail and may take 5-20 days for receiving.

Be cool...Stay positive...

I have provided correct email-id and I was lucky enough to get confirmation of my email-id for CIC on phone.
CIC spoke person was able to see my file and email-id in their system, but refuse to give me UCI.

Still, telling to myself --- 'All Is Well'

Only "princess19" has been forthcoming regarding this kind of mail about the timeline. Her file reached on 9th may and there are applicants before that timeline too in this forum like 5th, 6th etc. They haven't notified to this forum anything like this. So please anyone who received this kind of timeline mail(of 72 months) please share with the forum.

"Princess19" seems to be a Spam ID, whosoever is the person is, he is like spill.over and jay2174
who have taken this forum for a ride. Guys trust the CIC website and not an ID which has just poped up today.

Yes, This might be possible.
I have also sent an email to CIC about my status along with all the details on 19th July, 2013.
Still, no reply!

I can ask my friend to call CIC, she is in Vancouver.
That might help me to get UCI.

Bro, Let me explain you my scenario. Yes I understood there is a misunderstanding.

Now, lets forget about my wife's scenario, I can explain it on me as well. I did my BE IT in 2005 and after that 4 years of Experience in various companies and then 4 years self employed. I was doing Programming (2174) and Network Setup, System Installation Stuff as well (2147) in last 4 Years. Now, based on the current scenario, it seems that 2174 is of no use for me at this time. But there are little to very little chances in 2147. So, I'm planning to apply for 2147.

Now, in order to show the Experience, I have to Produce IT Return as a proof of self employed, company registration letter (I have it), Few of my client's Work Done (on their letter heads, with information like what I did, charges, time it took etc). In that case I show show only 4 Years of Experience right?

Yes, with all these docs, you can go ahead with 2147 - giving a proper and appropriate work experience write up. And, this is what I was syaing in my first response that if you feel 2174 will be filled up sooner, you should go for 2147 with all the additional supporting docs that are usually required in a self-employed case - which you say you already have.

Now, do not wait anymore, get out of consideration mode and file it soon enough. With this FIFO method, time is of essence (and this is the last year perhaps for that as from next one they will start EOI based processing).

Maybe they are being sarcastic and frustrated about the strike issues But yes, anything is possible, I just hope we do not end up like 2008 cases.
