I got a question form someone and i couldnt answer:

He got admission to UBC but wants to move to Halifax in Nova scotia for sometime.After clearence from IOs.Can he fly to there immediaely or could have problems with the IOs.

Are there connecting trains?

If there is aflight how much could be the fare?

In Canada, trains falls into a category of "luxury"... Far more expensive thn by flight/road.

There is no issue after getting through IO. He can be anywhere in Canada.

Novascotia (except Halifax) is nearly a dead place.

The distance from Vancouver, BC to Halifax, NS is approx.6,200 km. A train or a bus will make the trip in at least a week. So it is highly unrecommended to travel by Train or by Bus. Air Travel is the best option.

As long as he has a valid TRV and study permit, he can move around in Canada. But he should not move to NS immediately on his arrival because the IOs will doubt about his travel pattern. He should arrive in Vancouver and travel to Halifax after a few days.

By flight it should not cost you more thn $ 250 CAD from Vancouver to Calgary.

Once you cleared the immigration at Port of entry, you are entitled to travel anywhere in Canada.
