Hello,
I received Fulbright funding to study in the USA for a Master with J-1 Visa. For those who don't know it: this program requires you go back to your home country after graduation. And it's almost impossible to get a waiver.
So what I was thinking is to go to Canada with a temporary visitor visa (V-1) and then get a job and adjust my status.
How does that sound to you? Is it easy to adjust your status if you get a job in Canada?
Are there anybody with a similar experience?

What do you mean by "adjust your status"? Do you mean apply for permanent residency? If so, then it depends on the job and it depends on the rest of your profile (e.g. if you have any prior work experience, etc.). Having a job doesn't guarantee that you can apply for permanent residency.

FYI - expect it to be very difficult to find an employer. In order to hire you, an employer must first advertise the job to prove that no Canadian could be found for the role. They must then apply for something called a Labour Market Opinion to request approval to hire you. If the LMO is approved (not all are), you can then apply for a work permit. Because the LMO process costs money, takes many months to complete and there's no guarantee of success, many/most employers aren't willing to go through the process.

So likely the most difficult part of your plan will be finding a job / employer in Canada.
