Hello there,
I want to take suggestions before taking this first move. I'm 36 years old expat living in Dubai for the past 7 years working as an accountant. Before moving to Dubai, I was in the UK and completed 2 degrees from the UK; 1) Bachelor in Accountancy 2) MBA. I had completed both degrees successfully and returned back to my home country before the residency permit expired. I have all the visas, degrees, course completion letters, and stamps to prove that I never overstayed in the UK being an international student.
Now, I want to take admission in a Canadian Community College in an Advance Certificate in Finance. As my previous study is in accounting and then general MBA, this course can give me extra knowledge of finance-related subjects like derivatives, mutual funds & securities, which will open doors for me in many financial institutions rather than just working as an accountant.
Looking at many threads about the rejection rate of study permits applied from the UAE, I'm not sure If it is a good idea to take this step, considering my age of 36 years old, a study gap of 8 years, and being in the UAE as an ex-pat would be a good step or not. Your valued suggestions would highly be appreciated.
