Greetings everyone,
I (Kevin, 20yo) just got accepted to Niagara College for the Welding Technician program. (2 Year Diploma) starting January 2021.
I'm having difficulties regarding the study permit so any help is appreciated.
Details:
- TOEFL iBT test score of 87. (I honestly didn't study at all for this). I applied for the IELTS test but it has been transferred three times now due to COVID, so I doubt I'll take it anytime soon.
- Finished High School in 2019. During this time I've been thinking about what I want to do with my life. So after some months of rigorous thinking and planning I chose Welding in Canada as my career, and what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Also, there is no Welding school in Albania.
- No previous work experience. (Focused only in school)
- I live with my parents. My mom is a housewife. My dad is currently unemployed, instead he is in the first year of his Bachelor's Degree (Business Management). He recently finished the first year and intends to pursue the next two years.
- We rent, my family doesn't own any properties.
- I have a 18yo brother in the US, he was born there and is pursuing his studies. I don't know if this is relevant.
- My uncle is willing to pay all of my expenses. (Tuition, Room & Board, Everything else.) He is a US citizen and owns his own legit business there. I'm thinking of paying my tuition and residence cost before applying for my study permit as proof. How do I do this though?
- I have no criminal record. I'm waiting on obtaining my police certificate.
- On form imm1294 there is the question: "Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country or territory?" - I have actually entered the USA illegally when I was 10yo and deported back here when I was 13yo. I was clearly a minor so i didn't know what was happening at the time. Is this a major red flag? What can I do about this?
My intention is to study in Canada and hopefully to work there in the Welding Industry of Canada.
All in all, what are my chances of my permit getting approved? Any advice?
Thank You.
