My lady friend is coming from France to visit me and her family for six months and then we will go to Mexico for 3 months then return to Canada before returning to France. Can she come in with a one way ticket? as She will purchase one on the return from Mexico.

A one way ticket may cause problems. First of all, there's a chance the airline won't let her board the plane to come to Canada with just a one way ticket (you should call them and find out). Secondly, a one way ticket could create problems for her when she enters Canada (it may look like she has plans to remain in Canada long term and this could cause immigration officials to limit how much time she is allowed to spend in Canada and not grant her a six month visit).
