Hi All,

I will be applying for citizenship this month and would like to take the test as soon as it is scheduled, so I want to start preparing for it. Can anyone share free study material for it. I am aware of discover Canada pdf, but I am looking to test myself with questions.

The main free resource is Discover Canada — the official guide the whole test is based on. It's free on canada.ca, and since every question comes from it, that's the one thing worth reading properly before anything else.

It's also worth checking your local public library, as some offer free practice tests. And I'll be upfront since it's relevant here ; I built a free one myself, Portage (portageprep.ca). It uses questions based on the guide and explains why each answer is right, rather than just giving a score. Only mentioning it because the thread's about free resources; use whatever works for you.

Hi! I ran into the same problem while preparing — reading the PDF alone didn't tell me if I actually remembered anything.

I ended up building a free practice tool for myself with all 400 official-style questions, and for each one you can check the exact passage from the Discover Canada guide the answer comes from, so you're not just guessing at true/false. There's also a 20-question mock exam mode if you want to simulate the real test.

It's free to use: citizenship-app-ca.ptahlab.com

Good luck with your application and test!
