i. It depends on whether you want your application processed inside or outside of Canada

ii. Read the documentation in the applicable link above and ask again if you need help.

iii. I don't know what you mean, but if you refer to the work permit you might get after your inland application has reached first-stage approval, that will take you about six months.

iv. See ii

v. I don't know if I understand you correctly, but it doesn't matter which year you live together to qualify for common-law status.

thanks for responses.

i. Basically i will like to know if after been enrolled in a particular university,
can one change to another university closer to the city where his fiancee
lives and if so will there be any form of documentation that is required.

ii. Secondly, those it really matters how long you and your spouse have to live
before applying for pr even if your study permit is still valid. And you are not
yet registered in the school due to you have to wait till next semester which
will start in September 15th.

Please Advice.

You keep saying 'fiance' and then spouse. Your spouse is a person you are legally married to, a fiance isn't. That's a big difference with CIC. If you are actually legally married you don't have to have lived with your spouse for a year, you just have to prove that you have maintained a true relationship before and after the marriage. If you aren't married or planning to be married you have to live together for a year before you can apply. I don't know much about the student visa stuff, but I don't imagine moving to another institution would matter much for PR, as long as you have a valid status.

Hi, i appreciate your replies and corrections.
please, i need to be cleared since am still on study permit status now,
and i want to apply for inland pr due me and my spouse are already married.

please advice me on what to do because am confused if am to
Apply for change of status or
Apply directly for pr.

Thanks as awaits your response.

You do not have to live together for a year in order to be eligible to apply for PR as long as you are legally married. The cohabitation requirement is for common-law partner qualification.

As far as applying for PR and maintaining your temporary status: if you are currently in Canada with a valid study permit, you can apply for PR via the inland application process, including with the inland PR ap an extension of status/change conditions application. Make copies of all documents and track the mailing, getting delivery confirmation. As long as these are received by CPC-Vegreville before your study permit expires, you'll be able to continue staying in Canada and attending school under the permissions of your study permit - until your inland application passes the first stage of assessment (about 6-7 months). If you check the "initial work permit" option on the extension/change application, you'll be issued an open work permit once your PR application passes first stage approval. Only then will you be able to work. The OWP will become your new temporary status document and you'll keep that until your PR is finalized - which takes another 6-12 months.

Ok if you are married and she is a citizen like you say why are you just not applying for family sponsor and get the pr thatway then you dont have to worry about work permits or study visas???

Eddy, without being rude here...do you think you could get your wife to post your questions because your English is so bad that I doubt any of us can understand what you are asking.

I for one have no idea what you are trying to ask.

Hi,
try posting your questions about school in the international students forum of this site. Most of us are working on spousal and family sponsorships and are not very knowledgeable about the rules for the schools you can attend.
