What does it entail to get tourist visa

You have to show that you have strong ties to your home country (e.g. job, property ownership) and that you have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. You must also show that you have enough funds to pay for your trip to Canada. Instructions on how to apply for a TRV can be found here:

Canada has various forms of social assistance/welfare. You can read about them here. They have various forms of eligibility so not everything is available to newcomers.

There are many programs available to new comers to the country , more so then if you’re a citizen. When I got laid off, first thing they asked me was I a immigrant. Answer was No , then I wasn’t eligible for different resources.So you should go to one of Employment Centres set up by the province. In Ontario it’s Employment Ontario

Thank you Bs65 and 21Goose for the provided links. Thanks also to jddd and scylla for the deep insight. I have always been flexible when it comes to working despite the fact that I am a universality lecturer here in my home country so it sounds hard to do a job lower income and status, but it is a must.

There is always a job, even if it is not the one you like or want.
