I have my open work permit valid for 2years. so With that do I still have to worry about maintaining a legal status ?? Someone gave me a little bit of information which is kinda bothering me. So just taking out my cover not here.

You are in Canada legally with your OWP so you don't need to worry

but careful, don't leave the country, I noticed our OWP specifically says it is not valid for re-entry

You have a legal status to stay and work, but if you want to go for a vacation back home you need to apply for a resident visa unless you are from a visa exempt country. CIC will issue visa as per your work permit validity.
