Hey guys,

Does anybody know what are the conditions to getting the points for your foreign work experience? I'm trying to figure out why I'm not getting any points, I've submitted on my profile that I worked in the same NOC category in UK for 1.5yrs that I'm applying for through Express Entry. I guess I should be getting additional 50 points for my language abilities combined with the foreign work experience..

Any response is appreciated!

Thanks,
Roberta

Thanks for your reply! I have CLB 9 or higher on all 4 language abilities and I have over 1 yr of foreign work experience, so I should be getting 25 points, right? I wonder if I can contact somebody at the CIC office and they can look into it...

Thanks,
Roberta

Speaking 7

Reading 9

Listening 8

Writing 7

And this was IELTS

Btw, do you know how long IELTS test results are valid?

That's what I suspected. For skills transferability, there are various combinations for how to achieve the points.

The maximum points you can get overall for skills transferability is 100 points, and 50 points each for the two different sections (education and foreign work experience) If you have already achieved those through the various combinations with Canadian work experience, there will be no extra points for the combination IELTS/foreign work experience.

Check the link again that I sent you - I'm pretty sure you have the maximum points already.
I only got 50 points from Skill transferability section. Tried calling CIC call center but no one is able to help me out, they advised me checking their website.. Do you know an email address that I can send my request to?

Thanks,
Roberta

I believe your speaking needs 7.5 That's why you are not getting full scores

Play with this calc http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

(c) 25 points, if the foreign national has one or two years of foreign work experience and is assessed in their first official language at level 9 or higher on all language skill areas ;

Official language 9 or more + over 1yr foreign work experience. 0 points on my profile :(

Another point:
(c) 25 points, if the foreign national has one or two years of foreign work experience and two or more years of Canadian work experience;

50 additional points would bump me up to 486...... I need CIC to look into my profile, I'm getting so frustrated :mad:
