How does the Immigration Officer contact the sponsored person from any Embassy for the first time (outside Canada)? We have our sponsorship application in Peru.

By e-mail mostly.

They send them an email.

I heard they call as well? I guess they can do both? I just wanted to know the norm?

I've heard of them calling you AND showing up at your house (but rare for both cases).

I would think that they show up at your house only to verify that the couple lives together.

They email mostly.

We got a phone call once from the embassy, for an urgent matter.
Usually they only phone if its urgent.

They probably wouldn't show up as we live in separate countries hence the Outland sponsorship.

(Almost) Every story I've read for Peru states they called. One I think was they emailed, but I was only wandering about the first time they contact the sponsored person - how they usually do it. Thanks for input

Specific questions from specific countries are always best answered in the threads for others who have or are going through that same Embassy.

Have anyone heard any news on the strike? Anything happening? Negotiations? I can't find anything on the web... :-\

No change from what I have heard. I wouldn't expect any change before parliament resumes in September.

Who care about people any more?

Ya, I hope this will make a difference... :'(
