How big is the envelope it comes in, and what does it look like? Is it one of those standard brown #10 envelopes that various government departments send out?

I'm asking because I won't be moving immediately after landing, and since they won't send PR cards to a non-Canadian address, I will be leaving an Xpresspost envelope with my partner's parents so that they can drop it in the mail once it arrives. I just need to tell them what to look for.

I got mine in a regular ole' envelope like the one the sponsorship approval came in...

It's a regular-sized envelope. Just tell them to look out for any letters from the Canadian gov't.

As a sidenote, I'd advise you to apply for a SIN number as well right after landing, just to have it out of the way.

do they mention the address it come from, I mean Sydney?

Mine came in a white envelope, the same size as the envelope that the sponsor approval letter from Mississauga came in.

Hi,

Standard envelope # 10.
If you are not moving out of Canada, why you need to mail it?. Think about the risk of mailing a PR card.

I don't live in Canada yet, and I expect that my PR card will be processed before I move. (I'm mailing my passport tomorrow.)

Yeah, I understand you can get one the same day with your COPR, and was planning on booking an early-morning flight so that I can land and then go wait in line at Service Canada.

Thanks, everyone.

there was actually no line there when I went to apply for my SIN. But anyway, the earlier you come, the earlier to get it an leave their office. :)
