For my landing can I transit through a different city?

Hi there,
I recently received EE COPR with Toronto as the destination city.
For my landing, I found a cheap ticket that takes me from my country to Toronto BUT with transit (stop) at Montreal.
Is this OK? will I be doing the landing process in Montreal or Toronto?
Please advise; because I want to avoid any potential complications.

Hi

You will do the landing process in Montreal. You should allow at least a few hours, as it can take some time if CBSA is busy.

You will do your landing in the first Canadian city you arrive in (Montreal in this case). As long as you have an onward flight, there shouldn't be any problems. Make sure your connecting flight allows sufficient time to complete the landing formalities.
