Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Good Morning, I'm slightly concerned, and wondered if anybody could put my mind at rest.

I sent my documents off yesterday but I sent them off in a ring binder, few people have mentioned to leave them loose.

Is this going to cause me any problems?

Thank You

I don't have any evidence for this but would guess they'll just take everything out (whilst muttering about how you should not bind stuff together) and get on with processing it.

It would seem a bit unreasonable to send back for that reason.

Just my opinion though

i would have thought they would be ok with it, just worried at how picky they could be

Loncan, your comment made me laugh...(i was creating a picture in my mind of the assessing officer muttering while unbinding the papers lol)

As far as i know, nobody in this forum has mentioned that their papers (or somebody else's papers) were returned because they bind them and i agree with loncan that if they do return it only for that sole reason (God forbid), it is quite lame.

Like the other comments, I have no idea what effect if any the binder will have as it relates to the processing of your application.

But tell us though, why did you decide to use a binder, even though they explicitly told you that you should:

"Attach small items such as photos and certified cheques with a paper clip, otherwise leave documents unbound"

As I can see you have highlighted the part which relates to the binding of the application in red and advised me that they have 'explicitly' told me about this, which I appreciate. May I point out though there is nothing explicit about this, its 4 words out of a whole document.

But as you would like me to tell everyone why I put it in a binder its because, are you ready for this,

I must have over read those 4 words and missed them, and I apologize for this, its not like they 'explicitly' TOLD me and I ignored them to see what would happen.

I made a mistake and just wanted to know if anybody had done the same, again I am extremely sorry for this.

(To me) the instructions are explicit, but hey, like you pointed out, the instructions are not as explicit to some persons.

Your initial question didn't sound like you made a mistake (to me)....it sounded (to me) like you disregarded the instructions.

But thanks for clarifying that actually, you misunderstood the instructions and made a mistake (we all do make mistakes). I now understand your situation.

(Don't really get why you seemingly apologizing to me though)

CIC generally prefer to have as few clips/staples/rings in the application as possible since they will be pulling this apart and inspecting various documents.

However, I don't believe they would fail an application because someone put things in a ring binder or stapled something.

But generally speaking it's a good idea to follow these instructions since you want to keep the visa officer on your good side as much as possible :)

Wayne.

Lol thank you, I know I feel stupid, but I've been reading a few posts about people files being returned because of missing forms and silly little things so i'm slightly worried and how very picky they are

Thoughts from anybody else?

I wouldn't be happy if I was the person checking your application. Reason being as pointed out above, did you choose to ignore the instructions or did you fail to read them. But I wouldn't return your application for this reason. The thought process would definitely be altered, "what else is wrong in this package" as compared to someone else's that has everything as instructed.

What's done is done, don't worry about it now, don't see any serious consequences for this. Everyone makes mistakes, I did too. Hard to get an application perfect.

Don't worry.. I put staples in anything and forgot to give them my credit card number.. Still got my PR in the end.

If u forgot ur credit card, how ur docs get processed, can't believe at all

If they want to charge and don't have credit card detail, it will be returned
