As I have experienced the snow when I was in US & Germany,I can understand your excitement as well..Its worth enjoying ..especially when it comes in the forms of flurries and you are new to the weather and the places as well..and It's not that bad either in the chilly weather as I have always enjoyed the chilled weather & if it is freezing,-10 or -20 degree..Remember also ,wearing clothes in layers will help you much rather than carrying heavy jackets itself..
I am also pretty excited as time is passing by and departure time is coming closer and closer ..

looks like you have traveled to quite a few places with snow and chilly weather. it makes you better equipped to face spine-chilling weather.
i also share your view on layering of clothes rather than just wearing a huge jacket.
thermal wear- layer 1, woolen sweater- layer 2, jacket- layer 3 and on top of that, muffler, ear plugs, thermal socks, winter gloves and a woolen head cap.

you would also need water-proof snowboots at times ...after snow storms usually there are layers of snow in the streets and with temperature changing - the snow will start melting in the morning (and will freeze again during nightime) - while walking and the "cold water" will find its way to your feet - unless you are wearing water-proof boots - your feet will feel extremely cold

LET'S NETWORK AND SHARE IDEAS ABOUT LANDING, CLIMATE, CITY OF LANDING, AIRPORT FORMLAITIES, CLOTHING, IMPORTANT FORMS TO FILL AND CARRY ALONG ETC.
I AM FLYING ON 21ST JAN 2014 TO CALGARY, ALBERTA.
MY FLIGHT IS AIR CANADA= MUMBAI-FRANKFURT-CALGARY

While you are going to have a nice flight, reality will soon dawn upon you once you land here. Any city is good for new unskilled, unqualified immigrants from qualified universities of India. You can easily get a job at Tim horton, Mc Donald, Burger King. Can easily live in an underground basement room with your family cramped up. Life will soon be depressing. Thats what most immigrants do here and we really dont need more.

What the DUH, You guys so naive about winter. Is Canada really cold? I just came back from the gym and its -10C and I just wore my shorts. Once it hits -20c and below thats when cold starts. You dont need to layer. Buy a good jacket of 100 plus and its got layers inside it. Best city to settle in Canada is Iqaluit, NU . So all you new immigrants go there. You get hired by a grocery sore they pay you 20 dollars for 16 hours.

They pay you $20 for 16 hours of work? Isnt that too low as per their minimum wages which is $11/hr.... And for new immigrants who come from tropical countries like India, for them their initial winters here in Canada are worse. Instead of boosting yourself, try to be constructive & adivse them properly...
