Hello,

My IEC Young Professionals visa expired last month and before that I submitted my application by paper for worker permit extension (same employer, open work permit). So that means I'm on implied status right now.

Yesterday I was nominated by BC PNP and got work permit support letter.

My question is: does anybody have any experience about flagpoling while on implied status?
Would be there any problems that right now I'm kinda without any legal status (like valid work or study permit)? And what consequences can be? Is it possible that I could not allowed to come back to Canada or something like that?

I know that I can apply for work permit extension online, but I have some international travel plans and would like to get my permit ASAP.

I think you're right. I won't risk flagpoling.

I just started questionnaire online for work permit extension and I was told, that my permit expired and I have to pay $200 status restoration fee and $155 for work permit. Then I read more about status restoration and they say that I have to STOP working until I receive a decision about my work permit extension. But I'm already on implied status because I submitted paper based application. Can I submit a second application online and pay those fees ($200 + $155) and continue working? Or maybe it's easier just to wait for next EE draw and when I get ITA for EE and submit my application maybe I would be eligible to apply for bridging open work permit? Or it's not possible to get BOWP when on implied status?

we ask at the border about 3 years ago about Flagpoling while on implied status and the agent said that if you do not have a valid wp you can not do flagpoling.
