Hello all,

I sent my passport for visa to Ottawa. Today I checked and noticed that my passport is in transit - it will be delivered to me tomorrow with visa and confirmation of PR.

I'm sort of freaking out at this point. My work permit is expiring on April 30th and didn't apply for an extension. And my Temporary Resident Visa is already expired. My question is, if I receive my passport with visa and CoPR tomorrow and if I drive to either Niagara border or Fort Erie border to validate the PR visa, will I run into any issues?

I read here that sometimes people go to these land bordrs ans sometimes Canada Border Services deny them to validate their PR visas (saying we don't do anymore on the border). What if I run into a situation like this? Since my Temporary Resident Visa is already expired, I fear that I may be denied entry into Canada.

Also, could people share their experience of getting their PR visas validated at Niagara or Fort Erie borders? Thanks everyone for their help through tough times. I'm almost there, and you will be too :) :)

PS. I don't have US Visa.

Also, can anyone tell which documents do they check at during landing? Thanks!

Hello nightrocker....I recently did my landing at Rainbow bridge and it was smooth. My situation was almost similar to you.

The only document they asked for was the Proof of Funds but I would still suggest you take your paystubs, T4, offer later etc.

It hardly took around 30-45 minutes.

All the best for your landing..!!!!
