Has anyone who lives in Montreal done flagpoling before? I don't have a car, so I am wondering whether there are any border check points that are accessible from Montreal with public transport. Thanks!

you can rent a car for a day at discount. Not that expensive. (20$/day)
you can take a bus to vermont? or niagrafall tour
you can bug your friend to drive you. It takes only 1.5hr anyways. Nice road trip. I wish I have my visa now, we can go together :'(.... I am April applicant. I think I have to wait 2 more months.... Haiz....
I heard ppl said to go to the border and get off and wait for return bus. Plus, I think you should apply for US visa, because you will have a deny entry paper so you can go to the other side if you don't have a visa. Next time you apply for US visa, you have to explain it. I personally don't like any negative record (like refuse or deny entry). Or.... Go to niagara fall and walk through the bridge
I've heard, that it is ok to got to the border without visa. US borderguards allow you to come back to Canada without any marks in pasport. Someone, who did that, please confirm.

Ya. No marks on your passport. Just mark on your record because they have to give you a deny entry paper. Just my 2 cent opinion. A lot of ppl did it and it is fine. So I don't see why you can't do it. I may be just a bit paranoid.
