Hello members,

My parents would be coming to Canada for the first time on a visit visa to visit me. I would like them to stay for 6 months straight (as it can't be more than that), but I have been told that the stay should be shorter, like 2-3 months to avoid questioning by the CBSA officer, who can even refuse entry.
Has anyone had a return flight after a full 6-month stay and encountered any issues?

Can you guys share any tips for parents on first-time travel?
Also, can you recommend a good health insurance for them from personal expereince?
Thanks

6 months is not guaranteed and would be decided by the CBSA officer they encountered. They asked if they have tickets for the return flight.

Yes! I am aware of that but my question is that would it have a higher chances of denying entry for a 6-month stay with return ticket over a shorter term or it doesn’t matter?
Also, any tips for first time flyers coming to canada?

Likely doesn’t matter if we’re talking months.
