First PR Card mailed out but no GU2

Hi forum,

Please I'm in desperate need of advice now...

I called IRCC yesterday and was informed that my card had been mailed out on September 29, which was to my surprise because I didn't get GU2 in gckey, which was also the reason why I didn't believe the IRCC agent 100% (also based on other people's experience).

Another applicant shared her case: she got gu2 (mail out notification) on Sep 29, called IRCC yesterday and was told that her card will be sent to nearby office for pick up. Then why did IRCC sent her gu2 if her card WAS NOT mailed out?? After this, I started digging posts from last year, and found out this happened to some applicants during 2024 November cp strike. (received mailed out notification, no card received, then received pickup email).

Now I'm freaking out. Should I call IRCC again to confirm whether my card HAS BEEN MAILED OUT or not? (I did send a webform just now, waiting for response impatiently.)

Why are you "freaking out" now? Why is there a "desperate need" for advice?

It is not clear what your concerns are. There is no indication that your status as a Canadian is at risk. Whether you have a new PR card in possession or will need to wait to get one will have NO effect on your Canadian status.

Sorry I didn’t make myself clear. I already left Canada after a soft landing. So there is no way I could pick up the card in person, and I don’t think I can authorize other people to do it. So I’m afraid, like the applicant I mentioned above, that I’ll have to pick up the card eventually. Also I’m confused about the real status of my card. (I Want to believe the agent, but no GU2 about mailing out).
