My SO and I are going to be applying for his PR soon and am wondering how previous applications have been filled out. I will be sponsoring him and will also be doing the application as his written English isn't strong enough.

Should I answer all the questions in third person, first person?
What have you done?

From what I've been told... if you're doing the paper where you describe how you met and how your relationship has developed etc... the last page has a spot for the translators signature... You can't be the translator.. I think it says in the instruction manual.. Family can not be the translator... It can be someone else... for example.. Friend of the family.... anyone except family... I was lucky.. we had a friend of the family that could write out what she was saying... So it was like First person in our case... I called the Call center and found that out... but they told me that it was in the manual. you don't want to have a problem with your application over a simple oversight like that.. Good luck with everything!!

First person, I think.

in the answers to the questions and the essays we put first person, we wanted to show closeness (e.g first time i met Allie was in .....); but i think some outlines with the extra proofs still had 3rd person (e.g sms logs from him to her, visa stamps from the sponsor passport); i folllow mostly the old guides but i don't remember see it written anywhere; maybe the new guides mention this....anyway, 1st, 3rd, it does not really matter too much i think; write as u feel confortable; good luck!!
