in middle of the immigration process my mother in law had to change the passport. In new passport local Russian authorities slightly changed the spell of her first name.
How it can affect the immigration process? She is on final phase now? Should we inform processing center? Or she just can submit new passport when they call for visa?

Send a copy of the new bio data pages to the processing office.

This is a big problem......

the best thing is to correct the mistake in the passport....

all papers should have the same spelling.....

It is not as easy as just send a copy to the Canadian visa office....

if there is a mistake need to be corrected.....

I would not take any document which spells my name incorrectly...

and we can not expect the Visa Office to just take it....
