This forum has helped me a lot when I was applying for my study permit last year. So I thought of coming back here once again. Now I finished my course, and have been working full time in the industry I wanted to. I am currently working under the off campus work permit. Since I finished my course in April, I am now working full time. My study permit expires on 31st August 2014. Needless to say for me to keep the job I must apply for Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). However my passport expires on August 2015.
My question is do I have to renew my passport (which is a tedious process as I have to go the embassy in Ottawa to renew it) before I apply for my PGWP or I can apply for my PGWP first, get approved and then worry about renewing my passport. Also if I apply for PGWP now will they approve me even though my passport expires on August 2015. Please be informed that my PGWP wont be more than 1 year as I did post graduate diploma which was 8 months. Please let me know guys. I really want to keep this job. Thanks in Advance!
