I received a fingerprint request two weeks ago and just had my fingerprinting done one week ago. Anyone with experience on how long the process takes?

Also what's interesting was on the RCMP digital fingerprint form printout at the bottom right where it says "return results to (name and address of authorized agency), it was left blank. Is this normal? The Canadian citizenship box was ticked for the reason and I also had to submit a thumbprint to provide consent for the fingerprint results to be sent to CIC. But just want to check that it is normal for the "return results to" section to be left blank. Please let me know your experience.

Here is my timeline, Mississauga office:

Application Received by CIC: August 28, 2013
Letter of Acknowledgement: October 30, 2013
Fingerprint Request: June 6, 2014
Fingerprints Submitted: June 12, 2014
Test Invitation Letter: August 7, 2014
Test Date: September 6, 2014

Your fingerprinting process sounds similar to mine.

Congrats on your test invite!

So to confirm, is the "send results to" section on your form printout blank too?

Here is my timeline:

In process since 7th March 2014, fingerprints request 23rd May - done on 28th May and CIC received them on 29th May. Since than there is no activity on my file.

Cheers.

kentTO: Yes, the lower right-hand corner box did not have an agency or address included. However, the statement "Priority: 4" is in this box.

No idea what that means.

I got a test invitation 2 months after submitting my fingerprint
The agency took care of all the paperwork, I didn't pay attention to the check boxes etc.

Does anyone know how long it takes for RCMP to send the fingerprint results to CIC?

When did you guys call CIC to check if the results were received?

In my case RCMP sent them the results next day.

Is it possible to do the fingerprint before submitting the citizenship application? Or we can only do it when CIC requests it? Thanks!

Only upon request, as they need a case-specific case number, which is only issued when you get a fingerprint request, not before you apply.

I personally think that everyone should have fingerprints taken. Doesn't make sense why some people have to get theirs taken and others don't.

Also, from what I understand from a recent phonecall with CIC is the process is as follows:

1. Local office sends request for fingerprints
2. You go to third party to get fingerprint taken electronically
3. Electronic fingerprint get sent to RCMP
4. RCMP processes results and send results to CIC background check dept.
5. CIC background check dept processes the results along with other results, which may take time, and send back to local office.
6. Local office reviews info and continues

Overall a slow process.

Above info seems correct, Because I was asked to do FP's from St Clair office Toronto on 23rd May2014. I did my FP's on 28th May and sent it electronically to RCMP, a week later i called CIC and was told they've received my FP's and waiting for clearance from RCMP. A month later, i emailed RCMP to get an update on my FP's results and got a reply back on 13th aug stating verification was completed and results were sent to CIC St Clair on 18th July 2014.

On 5th Aug i called CIC and was told there is a note on my file dated 29th July that they are still working on FP's. Agent told me so far application is good and next step is test after the FP's verification is completed. She also said my File is in transit to local office Scarborough, anyway i called again last week and I was told that my file is in Scarborough and they are still working on the FP's.

So this is my timeline and i am not sure whats the next step from here?

Dear Friends,

My and wife have got the medicals and submitted the RPRF in March 2014. Now my wife has got a request of fingerprinting and we have done the electronic fingerprinting done in Canada. Any idea on how long it is going to take from here?
