Financial Assistance in Ontario

Someone asked me (he is a newcomer (pr) to Canada) how much one can get in social/financial assistance in Ontario?

He ran out of money. He used up all his savings and couldn't find a job in Toronto.

If he qualifies for social assistance, will be enough for him to survive? He is just depressed and planning to go back home...

1. Single adult $606.00 per month. I doubt if you can survive very well on it.

If he can't find a job in Ontario, it would just be a Band-Aid to get financial assistance if he still can't get a job. He should leave his wife and son in Ontario taking financial assistance while he himself goes to Alberta or Saskatchewan to find some work. If he finds a job, he can call for them.
