Hello All. My wife and I are in the final stages of getting her permanent residency approved. We received an email from the Canada Immigration Center telling us to plan to come for a final permanent residency interview in Saskatoon, SK at the end of February. Both my wife and I have to attend as she is applying for her permanent residency and I am her sponsor. What does the interview entail? What kind of questions do they ask? How can we be prepared?

That's the landing appointment - you bring the things they told you to bring (photos, passport, work permit, etc) and the whole thing will last maybe 5-10 minutes. The person working there will verify your identity, and ask you a few standard questions (have you ever been denied entry or asked to leave Canada or any other country, do you have any undeclared dependents, and have you been convicted of any crimes that haven't been declared), and then you'll get your COPR and be on your way.

So this is not an actual relationship interview, just a landing appointment. If it was a relationship interview, they would have asked you to bring more relationship proof and the like.

Congrats on finishing the process!

What if you've been denied entry to Canada once? Will this affect getting permanent residency?

No, as long as you declare everything truthfully. Denial won't affect the PR application, but trying to hide it will.

Thanks! My husband was coming in from the US and didn't know he had to have a return ticket so they refused his entry. But he literally went to the Greyhound station and got one and was able to get on the next bus coming into Canada. He's never had any problems going in or out since. And we also declared that in our Application also.

I just can't wait for this to finally be over!

You don't have to worry about it.

Hi There,

I received CoPR with visa stamped on passport and ready to go for interview. But, in my PR application I didn't mentioned that my Canada visa was rejected once. And there was miss communication with my lawyer at the time I submitted my PR application. What could be potential issues gonna be? Please suggest alternative options, it's do or die situation for me.

Thanks

Hi just want to ask. Are you done with the interview? How was it? May I know the questions.

Hi there, I wanted to ask you about your interview, how did that go for you? Our 12-months are up on Dec 12, 2019, so we are hoping to hear something very soon. We are from MB. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, Please does anyone have an Idea on how long it takes for the Etobicoke IRCC to contact you for further assessment and if possible how to reach out to them. Thanks
