I'm applying under C.E.C.. I have one year of work experience which includes working as a biological activity technologist from Aug4th till oct29 of 2010 and as a Visiting Scholar from Sept 2011 to June 2012. I have already filled out the application and verified everything. However I have an issue with my work experience.

Firstly, I worked as a technologist from August4th to October 29th, I'm worried about whether it will be considered as 3 months of experience.

Also, I was appointed as a Visiting Scholar by my employers. However, I have never done any of the duties listed on the noc list. I have actually completed the requirements of a molecular biologist according to the NOC list. I could get a letter from my employer to specify that I worked as a molecular biologist. Would that be okay? I dont know if the government has my position in their records or I can write whatever matches my experiences well provided I get my employers to agree with it.

Finally, along with the noc issue, I was recently told by a lawyer that the amount I was paid was in the range of what a graduate research assistant generally gets, which is apparently low and the government checks on the average pay scale of the position to confirm whether you worked there on not. If I do register my experience as a molecular biologist, would they match my pay rate to what is expected for that position? Or that does not happen at all.
As I did get paid from a recognized company, I understood that I was being paid reasonably well for this position.

It will be great to hear back from you guys! I'm almost done and I hope I can be one of the january submission guys :)

OH yea and as I have not been out of Canada for more than six months consecutively ever since I turned 18, I don't need to get police certificates at all right? I'm thinking on putting a short letter instead explaining the same.

You can (and should) do that, but past experience suggests that they will ask for the PCC from your home country anyway, and you should be prepared to give it when asked.

You could say you were a "visiting scholar working in the field of molecular biology," or "molecular biologist (visiting scholar)." The the title "post-doc" it says more about your status at the university than what you do, so you are advised to use the NOC that matches your duties (regardless of your title).

Speaking of your status, visiting scholars are often classified as non-employees in universities. Are you sure you had employee status?
