Hello, thank you in advance to someone who can help me answer this question. I am currently filling out the physical presence calculator form.

I am confused what to answer to this question:

Did you leave Canada between 2014-10-15 and 2019-10-15? Answer 'Yes' if you left Canada for any reason including vacation, work, business, family matters, school, illness, etc.

I arrived in Canada as a Permanent Resident/landed immigrant on March 3, 2016, and my eligibility period is from 2014 - 10 - 15 to 2019-10-15. Should I include my travel histories before March 3, 2016 since I didn't live in Canada before this date?

Thank you

Just to ensure completeness in the "absences from Canada" table, I would fill first row...
From: "2014-10-15", to: 2016-03-03" , Destination: "xxxx", Reason: "In this period was living in xxx as Citizen before Canadian PR. Landed in Canada, XXX Airport with COPR on March 3, 2016 as Permanent Resident."

The Citizenship calculator will auto calculate the # days outside as "0" for this first row!

(In the Citizenship Application, you should fill up for the relevant asked 5 year period for q10. & q11 ). Cheers!

Hi according to the information of your landing ,I do believe you can only apply after the 5 years eligibility period. If you land on March 3 ,2016 then you can apply after 2021 March 3.Are you applying for citizenship now? As according to the calculator your eligibility time starts from 2014 and since you became permanent in 2016 you will not be able to apply unless you were living as a temporary resident in Canada before becoming permanent. Please provide your thoughts and anyone else feel free to comment on my comments if I am not understanding the required time properly.

Hi,

I arrived in Canada on March 1, 2016 as a visitor, I left Canada on August 24, 2016. I went to the USA until December 14, 2016 and I came back to Canada as a visitor again.

Then, I became as a Permanent Resident/landed immigrant on September 11, 2017 and my eligibility period will be from 2015-03-21 to 2020-03-21.

Should I include my travels outside Canada before landing?

USA 2016-08-24 / 2016-12-14

SPAIN 2015-10-18 / 2015-12-03

Thank you
