I'm hoping someone can help provide some direction. My income taxes are generally really easy. Populate the details from my T4 and I'm done.
My partner and I are going to be starting the PR process. She's from the USA. I've been supporting her for over a year now (December 28, 2017) in Canada so we could obtain common-law. She's on an extended visitation permit.
I'm getting ready to do my taxes and understand I should be filing for common-law status now that we officially are.
She works teaching for a Chinese company that pays in RMB to her USA accounts. So technically she's registered and working in the USA. I don't know if I'm supposed to claim her USA income on my taxes or if she handles that on her own USA taxes.
