It's more than 2 months since my paper based file reached immigration office but have not received any email yet. Any updates on yours and do you know how much time it takes in general ?
It's been 5 months since my paper application was submitted to CIC in Sydney, still hasn't heard anything
Processing time is 20 months from the date when paper based file reached Sydney office. One will get reply only If its past 20 months. So have not sent any message.
did you tried calling in your case, when your file number was not generated ?
My IELTS got expired yesterday and nomination will expire in November. Will these affect my application ? I have not heard anything but just giot tracking information that my file was received in office nearly 2.5 months ago.

I haven't tried yet calling because my application reached Sydney on September 21. I sen't an email though, because I want to confirm if it reached the PNP department. I couldn't write the whole department name in the "To" field of the Xpresspost package.

I just looked at this https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx and this link says "We will not respond to your enquiry if the application is within normal processing times" so I thought sending email will be of no use because https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...vices/application/check-processing-times.html it gives 20 months.
Yeah, you are right. I found the same, but apparently one can ask if the application is in queue to be processed.
I tried to submit query via web form but was not able to fo it due to below error:
Client ID number (UCI) Error 1: Either a client ID or an application number is required.
Application number Error 2: Either a client ID or an application number is required.
And I do not have any from both, Do you know how in other thread user was able to submit query ?
thanks for info. Should I just add reference number of my nomination as application number because form stops throwing error. But its not actual file number ?
They were not processing paper based files due to covid but recently my cousin in canada said they just started some paper based files as well (Local TV news). It's 8 months in my case and have not heard anything yet. Follow IRRCC twitter account for updates, you will find lot many users posting there about facing same issue ie: files not processing.
