Hello all!

So, the LA consulate received my TRP application on April 29th. I received an email on May 11th saying that my application was in queue to be processed. I have a few questions regarding it all and I'm not entirely sure I can find answers (based on the whole "it's on a case by case basis"). Anyway, my questions:

1. I applied for the TRP in order to spend X amount of time with my fiance and soon-to-be step-children, and I'm curious to know if this type of reasoning is generally viewed as a valid reason to be granted entry.

2. In general (again, I understand the case by case basis aspect), are the TRP approval odds really good, or is it harder to get an approved TRP than what most people say? Most people make it seem like a walk in the park (unless you have a 10 page criminal record).

3. Is it safe to assume that the immigration person processing my application will eventually contact my fiance?

That's about all I have. I suppose I'm feeling a lot of anxiety over it all because if for whatever reason it gets denied, we'll have to wait an additional 4 months for my second application. Also, I feel I should state that all of my paperwork was complete and I didn't lie/stretch the truth about anything. But I've read how some people have been denied based on random factors and I'm terrified that's going to happen to me.

Would sincerely appreciate any and all help. I hope everyone is being safe out there. Thank you!

1. Any reason can technically be valid but some are stronger than others. A strong reason would be spending time with an immediate family member (e.g. parent) who is in Canada and is terminally ill. Your reason is not the strongest - but not the weakest.
2. TRPs certainly aren't a walk in the park. Many are refused. Cases are very individual so really hard to make any comment on your chances. Some of this will depend on why you are inadmissible as well and how close you are to qualifying for rehabilitation (or if you have an ARC in process due to a deprotation / failed refugee claim). All of these details are relevant in the decision.
3. You should assume they will not contact her and will make a decision based only on the information you've included in the application.

1 and 2. As you've said, it's entirely dependent on your individual case and history, so no one can really answer these questions specifically. Scylla explained it well.

3. No, they won't contact her.
