Thank you Rossei. Your posts are immensely helpful. I have a question, in what form we should get the invitation letter? like should it be sent as an email? or a pdf? scanned hand written document? or scanned printed signed document?

There is no right answer to it. Personally, I've always used a printed letter with original sign & notarized (hence it needed to be original). It nowhere says that an invitation letter needs to be notarized, however, it adds authenticity specially if you're from sub-continental countries. I've seen people sending invitation letter in email (not attachment) and still being successful.

Nowadays, most apply online. So, you have to scan it anyway. Just don't hand-write it.

Dear Rossei,

My husband and I have been going through various discussion boards and found your thread to be very helpful.

We have a plan to make a soft landing first to collect the PR and then move permanently after a year hopefully. We had few query regarding fund transfer, if you could shed some light on the issues would really appreciate it.

1. While declaring funds (during landing), how do you declare amount for assets/receivables which are not yet certain? For instance, the terminal benefits which you may get when resigning your job (this is other than pf/gf, can be a good amount or small)? Also sale value of land, which we are not certain of at this point?

2. Also can someone else carry fund for me and declare it as mine during arrival? For eg, if my brother carried CAD 15000 and during landing can he declare may be 3000 on his name and 12000 on my name?

Basically the fund transfer part seems to us as one of the biggest challenge, if we are to go by the book.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks.
