My question is:
Is it necessary to pay the processing fees for all the family members if they are included in the application but not accompanying me initialy to canada?
Or you have to pay the fees for all family members no matter they are accompanying you or not?
And if you pay the fees for only yourself now, can you pay the fees for those family members later when they want to accompany you?.
I am asking this because I may not be able to show the proof of funds to support all the family members later when I apply to the visa office.
Kindly answer my question.
thanks.

I think If you are including your family members as additional applicants(for immigration) then you should be paying the fees

Smooth landing on June 26, 2010.
I was worried about this too, but the New Delhi visa office specific instructions is very clear on this -

"FEE PAYMENT
Consult the Fees section of our Web site or the Guide for Skilled Worker Applicants to calculate your fees. You must include a bank draft payable to the Canadian High Commission for the full immigration processing fee for yourself and all accompanying family members."

Whew!!

No, you don't pay for the members of your family that do not accompany you. You just include them into your application in order they would have a chance to immigrate in future using your sponsorship. You just pay your fee, nothing else. I did it myself & they accepted my application & sent me my file number.

There are three cases

1) you apply by yourself but you have to declare your relatives (i.e. your family) and your family doesnt apply. In this case, you pay fees for yourself. Since, you declared your family, they can apply later and perhaps get PR but thats a separate application.

2) you apply with your family but when you go to canada, you are going to leave them behind and then they will join you in canada at a later stage. In this case, everyone will get their PR visa at the same time. For convenience you decided not to take them with you now. For this you have to pay fees for everyone.

3) you apply with your family and everyone lands in canada together. You pay fees for everyone.
Yes I am going to do the first option, I only have less than CAD$11,000 at my bank.
