and I don't know if the rest agree but i think adding a colum of "ecas status" "# of applicants" (for example The boss was the main and only applicant, me too ) "type of CSQ" (if it was through PEQ or regular) "Inland/Outland" Application "Comments" (In my case they requested for additional info)


I think that could give us all a better perspective of all timelines.

I think (now days) ecas goes to IN process when your file transfer from cio to cpp-o. this is usually update by cio after medical received and passed. cio make all the processing then transfer to cpp-o for ppr and rprf. In your case they (cio) ask for additional documents like PCC and after you send all these documents they send to cpp-o and same time you are ''in process''.in my case i send all the pcc with my application. when i got medical request from cio they mention my visa office is cpp-o and any communication will be with cpp-o.that means cio transfer my file to cpp-o some time in november 2012 (because ecas show medical received). but i dont understand why my ecas shows application received and not in process?any idea?

I am not sure if this is true. I received medical AOR in Sep 2012 and also sent en email for status update to CPO like a week ago. the email started with:
"Your file has been transferred to this office in Ottawa for processing. It will be reviewed by one of our officers, with priority given to applications that were received at CIC before 1 September 2011."

As you could see between Sep 2012 and and Feb 2013 my application has not begun to be processed and it is still waiting in the line. so I don't think your application being in CPO means it is being processed!!

I really haven't been able to find any pattern in the order which applications are being processed!!

To give more info, I'm the only applicant in my file and as my profile says I'm already in Canada (and have been here for quite a while). And I think your file can go in process before its transferred because I think a call center agent told me my file went to Ottawa after the in process date on ECAS (it's possible I just heard the date he said wrong).

Maybe the applicants who got their passport requests quicker did not have a travel history and had lesser security checks to be done? Also, maybe having a job offer made a difference. Maybe we could add those fields into the excel sheet and see if that would help in trying to get a pattern..

I have a job offer and got my CSQ very quickly (3 months). I don't know why the federal part is taking enormously long for me... but I do have the hope that they will keep their word and really provide me with something by May 31st.

My firm offered me a position in Montreal and I followed up with CIC last week with the job offer. I am waiting on a response from them and that might give an indication of whether a job offer would really help or not. Let's hope for the best!

I applied through a law firm so they have contacted CIC on my behalf, but I believe it is through email.

Today I received my GCSM report. Unfortunately nothing has been done on my application after they received my Medical (which was in CIO, about 5 months ago) and my application has not been touched in CPP-O.
