Hi

They had received my application on 28th April, 2011. We are in the same boat. Now that Buffalo consulate is closed I am not so sure about my next step.

Let me know if you hear anything from them!

All the best
Let's hope May-July 2011 applicants will hear good news soon.... Good luck.

Why this long silence from everyone. Is CPP-O still processing all the applications they received or did they put everything on hold for now. If yes, can anybody tell me when they will restart. BTW, please people, let's keep encouraging each other and keep posting. This waiting is really frustrating but we got to have faith.

I have received a request by Ottawa office to provide them with RCMP criminal record check, despite their initial instruction that if a person is living in Canada, no need to provide clearance from Canadian Police. I don't know if this is normal.

Any way, I went to the Police authorized agent in Montreal to get my fingerprints. He first recommended the electronic prints, so I get faster processing, then when he learned that Ottawa office is responsible for my case, he said Ottawa prefer ink prints! is this true??

He also added that I must send prints to Ottawa office without sending it to RCMP. He said that Ottawa Pilot office would contact RCMP and get the certificate. What do you think guys? Did any one go throught his?

hi cvd222,

my digitalfingerprints i Montreal took 8 days weekend included! the officer told me 2-3 weeks is more realistic, if NOTHING shows up, but i went on a Tuesday, and the week after on Tuesday i had it my mailbox. that was fast. so, it actually was 72hours as it says on the website,...plus mailing.

that's it from my side.

thanks lepatissier07. I was just wondering what made you provide the Canadian police clearance if we weren't required... Do you know of other in-Canada applicants who were asked to provide Canadian police clearance? Now I'm tempted to get one as well...

hi cvd222,

i have several reasons.

1. it makes a good impression to send it volontarily, meaning, you've got nothing to hide, besides the fact
that i have to give already 4 other (clean) PCC's, and one of them took 4 weeks.
(I have a connection to an Ex-RCMP Officer who said it was a good move, even if they didn't ask, because
authorities like THESE kind of actions)

2. I know its not long in comparison to how long other members had to wait, but i'm getting a bit sick of
waiting, so, i would like to get it done, so, i have my file number, and the adress, so, i just send it.
so, if they ask for it, the letter from them will take a week, it might take ME a week to get it done,
then it possibly takes 2-3 weeks until its done and another week to send....sooo... do the math. :)

Its your call. :)

that is where i've been, it was close to work. Its upstairs, take the lift 4th Floor if i remember right, just ask the kind security guy in the reception hall. 4th floor arrived, proceed straight forward into a small Office, at the reception desk and ask for the Fingerprinting Service for Immigration purposes, they will ask if you have an appointment, if no, then sit down a minute and they will call upstairs. i was there twice, once before noon, the other time 3pm approx., both times no problem. appointment not a necessity. arrived upstairs, straightforward to your right, the guy awaits you at the door and opens just before you approached the door. An older guy, i guess about 50s, glasses.... twice he seemed to me very grumpy, but was a nice guy after a while. if you mention the Digital fingerprinting, he will ask, if the VO asked for it, answer him straight, he takes it very seriously! I told him that i want it to be done, and i know they haven't asked....i just wanted to speed it up....he is a bit strange the guy.... ::) you'll see. 65$, cash preferred.

As i said, i just wanted it to be done, they might even wouldn't have asked, and i could have saved 65$, but so far i spent over 2500$ and almost 2 years for all this....blablabla...the last 65$ are not going to kill me, and if it helps to speed it up.....then....what the hell... :) ::)

hope it helps,...

Hello lepatissier07

Thanks for all the info you gave. I am just wondering (and this might some like a lame question) but does this company takes only the finger-prints and send them to Ottawa-processing centre or does (the company) also issue/produce a police-record/certificate?

Also, do they mail the results to Ottawa as well, or do we have to mail it on our own? Please let me know
