CIC call centre message says all Biometrics/Medicals have been cancelled.
Wonder what that really means as my husband has his medical appointment scheduled for Thursday - in Jamaica. As far as I know, the doctor there has not told him that it is cancelled.

I'm in Ontario increasingly worried that my Biometrics collection location and medical location will close before I get to my appointments.
Can you do Biometrics in Canada if you're being sponsored as an outland?

Previous months' applications were taking 45-60 days. Give it time.

You probably would haven gotten AOR 1 this week however....Everything seems to be on pause since Friday. There are notices up on the website. The virus outbreak will be affecting everyone at the moment in some aspect. We will have to hold tight.

No application in progress will be closed or refused due to a lack of documentation. We’ll automatically give you 90 days to complete these steps. Once you’re able to, complete the steps as soon as possible to avoid delays.

Hi All,

I am having confusion between AR (application received) and AOR1. Is AR an email from CIC that my application was received or is it the case where we track our package and assume that it has reached the CPC?

Its one in the same...The date you receive the notification is AOR1....The letter includes the official date your application was received. They stamp it the day it is in the mail-room. So more than likely its whatever day your carrier says it was received by them.

Application received/AR is the date your package was delivered to CPC Sydney (if you have a tracking #)
AOR1 is the letter/email IRCC sends the sponsor acknowledging that they’ve received your application (usually sent minimum 1-2 weeks after your app been delivered)
