Not sure if we should be hopeful that our application is being worked on again but last night we received a letter (via GCKey) that my husband's passport is now less than a year from expiring (expires Sept 2020).... so we need to renew his passport and send them a new copy within 30 days.

Do you see this as a hopeful sign that maybe they are getting ready to finish his application? Or no?

Thanks so much!

na i think is just a pre-requirement for VO if you aren't matches this, need to be solved so your app stay in queue to London.

yeah, I was afraid of that. *sigh* guess we need to get it sent in as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we are travelling next week so it'll have to wait until we get back to go get the new passport. We're looking forward to the trip for sure, but not good timing from the perspective that it'll now just delay our application a little longer.

i think their goal is to put applications apart to look like not much remains on queue so when they find a tiny micro lil issue like that , uses this to say , "well as long as you don't fix that , don't blame us for been late, so for the next 30 days if your app was to be sent to London, is gonna wait the new passport"

Same as when it's arriving to VO, we already have sent policy and justice certificate (from initial sending) but i'm pretty sure they gonna ask for new ones at Mexico cause those been sent in February 2019, so now they are old. Is a business Lee&Stacey , all that can put money in the system, they will. I don't think they care if that causes fees on sponsor or PA... same as when your app passes 12 months.. and your medical is about to expire, gonna request another exam is again money in the system.

I would hate to think that was the case and they delay things intentionally, but who knows. We're also worried that my husband will have to do another medical since his was done in March. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Do you really think this process is transparent? is kind of clear that it isn't. Well maybe not intentionally but that gives them an easy excuse let's say... . Money Talk...and clock is ticking . Target is 80% solved by 12 months to maintain their image.

i'm talking to some ppl that are to be sent to Mexico or are already sent and there's no communication since April 2019 since almost everything has stopped at those dates, is none sense.

Some are over a year and still no communication, someone is even at 20 months.

Yes, it is very frustrating for sure. And 20 months... :-(

I've been on the other side of this process too (as I immigrated to the US in 1999). I can say that the US process wasn't any faster or less frustrating about why it couldn't go faster. I guess I've just resigned myself to this is how it is trying to immigrate anywhere and I just need to be patient through it as it will eventually be done and then it'll all be behind us. At least with Canada the overall process is quicker and we'll get the PR card at the end of this wait. I didn't get my US permanent resident card for an additional 2.5 years after entering on a visa that had taken almost a year to process.

I guess it depends if you are
1) "wanted " or not
2) origin of the pa they can say whatever they want , that everyone is equal, but theres clearly some nations that enter faster than others.
3) If you are not suffering the lack of staff in vo"s which we clearly are and they have no intention to switch our cases to Missisauga so.

(speaking of which , Called last week and agent have made a mistake by saying that here's a lack of ppl in Mexico then he was like oh i'm sorry i meant is an option.... i guess he didnt have the right to tell this.)

Yes at the end of the day you gonna enter but, at the end of the line.
