I am not sure if its true or not for everyone, but when I contacted my MP for the first time, I got MR in 10 days. The second time I contacted them and got PPR in 2 days. Not sure if contacting a MP triggers the process but just wanted to share my experience.

Just google MP (Member of Parliament) for your city. Give them a call on the contact number given. They will ask you for your postal code to verify if you live in the area of that MP.

I just gave them a call and asked for the status of my application. I didn't go in person.

Just joined this forum. I applied in Febuary 2014, and just recently got DM ( 31 march)
We received your application for permanent residence on February 20, 2014.

We started processing your application on March 13, 2015.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

My question is the following: I live in Alberta, how long will it take Canada post to send me my COPR (I am from visa exempt country), also how long will it then take to make an appointment with CIC for my landing, reason I am asking is that my current work permit expires at the end of this month (although will that matter if I have already started to apply for a new BOWP). Please advice

From my personal experience I will suggest g to meet in person.
But don't expect much .

They (MP Office) can just provide you if any issue with your file . can not rectify that or ask CIC to do any favor

Called CIC today.
Agent updated my all my 4 criteria are Passed i.e. Eligibility, Medical, security, criminality. (My MR had issue which also passed on 6th Apr)

But agent not able to tell me when I can expect PPR email . any idea guys ?

Sounds like soon. Does your ECAS say "Medical results have been received"?

Yup Long back. (from sep 12 2014)
They considered my Old Medical result for PR also

Infact I did MR again as in GCMS note Medical was passed but was showing expired , so I thought why totake chance and did upfront MR again , after that few other test they asked
Long story in short My MR was reason for delay

But what now . Why CIC is waiting for PPR email

My ECAS have 3 lines , application received, MR RECEIVED, APPLICATION process

Got my passports back yesterday and landed today !!!

1) Please order for 2nd GCMS
2) Visit your Area MP office and ask them to contact CIC and get input on your behalf . Here is link to find your area MP :

Hey man, I always called them and they were able to provide me the required information on the phone. I am not sure if meeting would do any extra help or not.

Just 4 Q :
1) Can I send Passport to CIC via FedEx? or I need to use Canada post only ?
2) If answer of 1) is Any courier then I need to use below address only ?:
" CPC – Ottawa
365 Laurier Avenue West
Ottawa ON K1A 1L1"
3) Do I need to address any one before the address i.e. To , Immigration officer or any such thing ?
4) So what All I need to include in courier ? Passport for myself and all dependent/ Prepaid return packet ? any thing else ?
