are you joking godisfin?????????????

is this the SA everyone was talking about?? not even a congratulations from CIC?? Sheesh...

I am going nuts here, I was not expecting the visa office to be changed form Cairo to Nairobi.

Not to mention the fact that the expected waiting period is now from 15 months to a good 32 months.

Congratulations on SA :)
Don't go by what the CIC website says for VO
There is a November applicant that received SA on Dec 5/12 and rec'd PPR on Jan 22/13
Hoping a speedy process in Stage two :)

Hi Kuudir2 and congratulations on your SA

Where is your mate living? In Egypt if i am not mistaken. Why Nairobi! As far as I know Cairo is still operational!

HEY GUYS!!!

I have received 2 emails from CIC just now

One was about sending me back a refund of 60 dollars...and there is no explanation as to why they are sending it back.

And the other was about....I copied and pasted, someone tell me what this is about!!!

"This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class you submitted to this office on
behalf of ___ and family (if applicable).

You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing.
Should you need to submit additional information or make any further enquiries regarding the
Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s), you may contact the visa office by e-mail,
fax, or in writing as follows: "

And it has given me the Nairobi visa office.

It also said:

"This visa office was selected based on your relative's home address and the requirements of the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act."

I'm going a bit mental right now, can someone explain what this is about..??

I will be calling them tomorrow morning at 8AM sharp!!

Yes this is your sponsorship approval. Congrats. Though it sounds like a wrench in the plans going to Nairobi if the wait is double the time now. Sucks.

He is living in Egypt for over 10 years now, I thought he was eligible to be sponsored from through Cairo office.

But I think cause he has a Somali passport that he is now considered a Somali citizen... And Somali citizens are sponsored through Nairobi office.

MAN!!!!!! This is such a big change from what I was expecting....no empathy from CIC!!

Now it makes sense. I was confused for a second. It definitely has to do with the fact that he as a Somalian passport.

Oh no.. that sucks!! :(
It would make sense if he could apply through Cairo because he has been living there forever.. but now I understand why they maybe changed it to Nairobi. :(

I am still trying to wrap my head around this change in visa offices....What do they expect from me differently??

Anyways, ya'll made me feel a whole lot better by letting me know that the mean message was actually the SA I was waiting for.

All I have to do now is wait a bit longer that I would have initially...

CIC folks have to begin using more empathy and excitement in their messages....

And by the way, i got two email updates from the E-cas tracker this morning, one that my SA was approved (more like they sent me a letter), and that my husband's medicals have been received.

Just curious, my SA was worded differently than what Kudir got.
It says like this:

"This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class you submitted to this office on
behalf of ___ and family (if applicable).

As requested, you file has been updated to include the additional dependent and all eligibility requirements for sponsorship have been met. Accordingly, the visa office processing the Application for PR for you relative/s has been advised.

......."

Anyone got the same thing as mine? Just thought they have the same format to everyone. Anyway, congrats Kudir :)

And by the way, I didn't get ANY notifications whatsoever on my medicals. I don't know if they have received it, or if its out there somewhere...

Is that normal not receive any notifications on the medicals till later?

I'm positive it is ok. I believe Gary got update on his medical a week or two after the SA.

mine was same as kuudir's.. :) Yours seems like there has been someone added to the app (..file has been updated to include the additional dependent..)? maybe they have few different formats depending on the case. :)

Maybe because my UCI is the same as when I got in Canada as a dependent child of my dad.
The wording kinda confused me when I first read it, but I think it is saying that I am eligible to sponsor eh?
