I am planning to apply for FSW from India.
Has anybody applied using Public Provident Fund (PPF) account statement as "proof of fund"?
Is it acceptable?

It should be in your name. No other fund is acceptable.

This has been discussed earlier also in some other thread. Some say that it is acceptable while other are of different opinion.

My suggestion would be to write to VO and seek clarity about it.

mni

Friends I am in panic. My proof of fund is Provident Fund only as my consultant told me it is valid as POF. Anybody can mention cases where it was not accepted?

Regards..

Don't worry, friend. PF is an asset to you, only in yours' name. Hope it will work. My common sense also supports this. Anyway follow the below link:

Hope this has been helpful for you.

To be on the safer side withdraw and show it as POF...

hi guys.....

any views when can we receive mr

possible by this september????

as far as my knowledge goes PF is valid proof of fund but you must provide them the liquid vale of the fund as you cannot withdraw the whole PF if you don't resign from your job. So get a certificate from your employer regarding the liquidity of your PF

I also think that it might be valid as it's one's own money [The only thing that i think goes against it is the availability. I was told that I cannot withdraw PF for some initial years by my company. Not sure if the same rules apply everywhere... ].

But in doubt, I would have either sought clarification from VO or withdrawn and shown as POF rather than taking chances.

mni

Nge, I got MR just 2 months after I got "In Process Status" back then it was really fast. It wasnt a year after. I hear london VO is just really slow.

Good Luck! & Keep praying!

thats right but you can take certificate from your company for the amount availability in case you require to withdraw under special circumstances further POF FDR in bank is the best option I advise you to send the POF again to the VO

Hi BigMike,

I have couple of questions for you. My status is "In Process" from Jan 27 2011. I am waiting for my MR, it may come any time. I am expecting a Baby in mid Nov 2011. Now my questions are,

- Before they send me the MR, should I inform them saying that we are expecting a baby in Nov 2011?
- How should I inform the VO about the New born after the birth takes place(through e-mail or Postal)?
- Do they send us any application for the New born after we inform them or we should send the application at the time when we are going to inform them about the new born?

Please share your thoughts.

Thanks,
Krishna.

You should inform them that you're expecting a newborn on November 2011 thru email.

You just need to inform them thru email about the birth of your child. They will ask for additional documents for your newborn. They would require a original birth certificate, passport copy, pictures & updated application forms (IMM008 generic & addl' information form for you & addl information for your spouse/other dependents).

You will send them updated application forms. They will not send you application forms. They will inform you where to download the forms.

You must inform them as soon as you came to know that you're expecting a baby.

On my case, i informed them on Oct 2010 even the baby is due on June 2011. Then emailed them about the birth last june 2011 then they asked for the documents of the baby then they sent MR after 2 weeks. After than we had the medical and now waiting for the PPR.

Hope this helps. God Bless!

Congratulations on the Newborn! :D
