can somebody pls help in clearing a confusion..SGVO asked for personal net worth statement. can we show the minimum POF as the net worth?

Another question, if the net worth amount is very big but somebody decides not nto take the full amount to canada..can that be an issue?

in short i want to know the significance of this net worth value for getting visa and whether there is any hard n fast rule for that net worth amount..

Pls advise..

Dear SamDhaka,

Question_01: SGVO asked for personal net worth statement. Can we show the minimum POF as the net worth?
Answer_01: Yes you can. But you must show some property (may be in a portion of your parent's property) if you have. Why it's better to show property? Because, after few years if you sale your property here in BD and brought to Canada, it will be a question, from where you get that big amount of money? If there is no answer, it may create a big problem at that moment.

Question_02: If the net worth amount is very big but somebody decides not to take the full amount to canada. Can that be an issue?
Answer_02: No one said to sale your property at any point of time period. No matter if you don't take a single penny from your declared net worth. But you must carry the amount of POF in the landing period. So, carrying minimum POF is very important.

Question_03: I want to know the significance of this net worth value for getting visa and whether there is any hard n fast rule for that net worth amount.
Answer_03: Well, the importance of net worth for SVO is typical. They want to understand whether, you are economically solvent or not. If solvent, how much solvent you are? It carries a very important role if you want to do business/invest in Canada in future and if you have to bring money from you home country. It will proof from where you get such big amount of money. So, if you do not show the property: the question arises, where do you get that money? Another thing is that, it shows a good rapport if you can maintain a healthy credit transaction over there. Additionally, showing of huge net worth may help you to get big amount of bank loan for any purpose in future (you may want to buy an apartment over there).

Dear Patricia1818,

I think you can use traveler chaque for POF when you are only owner of that as it allows by immigration officer at the landing period in Canada.

have 2 queries;

1. While filling the additional family information forms, suppose Mrs. A is the the principal applicant and her spouse is Mr. B, NOW IN ONE FORM WHERE THERE IS WRITTEN APPLICANT SHE WILL WRITE HER NAME AND FOR SPOUSE COLUMN HER HUSBAND,S NAME. But when the spouse will fill his additional family information form where he should write his name : under applicant column or spouse column?

2.WHILE ARRANGING ALL FORMS AND DOCUMENTS. I FIND THAT IN CIO CHECKLIST THEY DEMAND ALL FORMS LIKE MAIN APP FORM, BACKGROUND INF. FORM etc. But while seeing the Delhi VO checklist they also mention these documents plus all other documents like civil docs and so on. Now SHOULD ONE SEND TWO COPIES OF ALL FORMS; ONE FOR cio AND ANOTHER FOR vo OR ONE SET OF FORMS WILL SUFFICE?

<When Spouse will fill his form, he will write his name under applicant column and his wife's (primary applicant) name under spouse column>

<Only one set of form will go & that to be with the CIC checklists. Once CIC find your positive eligibility, they will attach all the required forms from CIC to VO checklist & forward it to the Visa Office>

We see people asking the same question again and again. I thought of starting a new topic with answers to common questions. Please don't post any question on this topic, so that it doesn't get large. If you think something should be addressed, PM me and I will see if I have the answers.
If you see any errors in my posting, PM me and i will modify it.

A great resource for Canadian immigration is the CIC website. www.cic.gc.ca

Try this for FSW category 1 candidates - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp

Another great resource, you should check out, is http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf

Please note, i am no expert on applying to Canadian immigration but most of the answers to concerns addressed here can be found in other topics in this forum.

Here is a useful job database http://www.canadavisa.com/career_zone/canadian-immigration-job-search.htm

I am new to the thread and am glad to visit.
