My aunt has applied to sponsor me, my husband & our daughter. She is a Citizen of Canada and do not have any other living relatives in Canada. She was since asked to provide detailed financial information (which she did). Our documents go via Trinidad. :)

I would like to know:

1. What is the process? - our applications were sent in before the other request for financial details.

2. How soon will we hear from Canadian Officials to say that we are approved? and will they send us more documents to fill out before we travel?

3. How soon after our applications are approved can we migrate.

4. If my family and I have been living in a foreign country (Antigua) for years (and at the time of submitting our application) - how complicated woud it be if we move back to our home country (Guyana) to await a response from the Canadian Officials?

Thank you much to anyone who can assist

1.) She is first approved to sponsor you, then you and your family members are background and medical-checked to ensure you are not inadmissible to Canada.

2) Family sponsorships take somewhat longer than spousal, only Port of Spain could say for sure. If they need additional information, you may be asked to complete other forms, or to update your information since they last got information from you.

3) Your visas will have an expiration date tied to your medical examinations or the expiry of your passport, whichever comes first. You must land before the expiry date of the visa.

4) You will need to update the embassy on your move, and you may be required to produce additional police certificates after an appropriate time living in Guyana.

If there's anyone with similar experiene i would love to hear from you too, plz. - especially concerning the timing and requirements - like if my family and i would have to travel for interviews etc.
