I am writing here after reading up articles on this subject on the IRCC website and elsewhere and also having called up the IRCC call centre, which only provides the same information and hang up before I can reach a live agent. Needless to state but still, I will be highly obliged if someone can please advise on my situation.
1. I am on a 3 year multiple entry visitor visa in Canada.
2. Came to Canada on Dec 18, 2015; was given a 6 month authorized stay.
3. Applied for extension of stay by another 6 months in May 2016, was granted a visitor record with date of stay extending to Dec 18, 2016.
4. Exited Canada to visit the USA for a week on August 28, 2016, came back to Canada on September 5, 2016. USA stay was granted for 6 months but I came back within a week. No new entry stamp put in by Canada border services.
Now I wish to know what is the expiry date of my authorised stay in Canada? Is it Dec 18, 2016 as it says on my visitor record or is it 6 months from the date I entered Canada again from the US (which was September 5, so February 5, 2017?)
Please advise, someone!
