Extension of Status was sent by mail, instead of online

Hi everyone, I hope someone could help me.

My mother came on a visitor visa in august 2019, we applied to extend her status in January 2020 (before the visa expired), but the application was sent by mail. We didn't realize it could only be done online. The time for restoration of status ended last months...we never received any answer from the application we sent in January.

Can anyone suggest what option we have due to the pandemic my mother has remained in Canada longer than she would have initially, and I am afraid she is currently without status.

Yeah. Do you have a receipt from the post or delivery service that it got delivered?
