Hi guys,

I am currently on a working holiday program and my VISA expires August 13th. My girlfriend and I are applying for permanent residency ( which takes 7-8 months ) and obviously I do not want to leave Canada for that long.

I sent in an application to extend my work visa on the 6th of July.

My question is, will I have to leave on August 13th if I have not heard from CPC Vegreville? I have heard of Implied Status, does this mean I can continue to work until I get an answer from CPC?

Also, if it is denied, but my PR Common Law Sponsorship is in process, do I have to leave, or can I stay until it is finished ( 7-8 months )

I have tried calling the call center, but can never speak to anyone as they're too busy.

Any help would be great

Thanks guys

Since you have sent your papers ahead of the expiry date...you can continue to stay in canada until you hear from them. It's the implied status - while you wait for documentation/ update from CIC.
