Extending study permit and work permit

Hi,
My husband's study permit expired on July 30 2020, but he hasn't finished his studies.
Also my open work permit expired on the same day.
My question is, can we apply for extension together? Or does he need to apply first, and after he get his study permit extend apply for me?
