Extending stay with visitor record for a 2nd time without the 1st yet approved

Hi,
I have a question on applying for a 2nd visitor record. Here's my current situation

> I've spent 2 years living in BC on a working holiday visa.
> In early August 2020, 6 weeks before it expired, I applied for a visitor record for an extra 6 months.
> The visitor record hasn't yet been approved, and given the current situation with COVID, I'd like to try and extend for another 6 months if possible. (If the 1st application is successful, I have status until mid-March 2021)

My question is: Is it possible to just apply for a 2nd visitor record even though the first one hasn't been approved? Is it OK even to apply a second time?

Or are there any other options to remain here as a visitor if not?

Grateful for any advice on this.

you have to wait and see if the first one is approved first. If you are young you’ll needto show why you need to remain in Canada and how you will support yourself without working.

Just one further question on this. I have approx six weeks before I would need to leave the country supposing the first visitor record is approved. I'm quite anxious to get making plans just in case I have to leave, especially given the current state of the world with COVID around.

Is there anything that I can do to speed up the process, or pursue another avenue to buy myself more time in Canada? I'm just worried that they may approve the first visitor record very late and I'd much rather be able to make plans ahead of time. (Like giving my landlord fair notice etc if I have to leave).

Unfortunately there's really nothing you can do but wait and no way to speed up the process. If you are only given a short extension when you receive the approval, then simply apply for another extension.

Ok, thank you for your help.
My sense is this might get stressful as time gets short.
