Hello,
I currently have a 2-year open work permit through IEC which ends in January 2018. My common-law partner is sponsoring me to remain in Canada and I would like to apply to extend my work permit at the same time, just in case my PR doesn't come through before my current permit ends.
On the "Worker (In Canada Applicant)" document checklist, it states that "if you are a participant in the International Experience Canada (IEC) program, provide health insurance covering the intended extension to your length of stay in Canada."
I am confused by this as even though I am currently here through IEC, I do not know how much the temporary extension would be. It would depend on how long it takes for my PR to come through...
Also, I have an NS health card and I am covered on my common-law partners health insurance...
Does anyone have any experience with this or have the answer?
I don't want to send it all off and have it returned to me!
Thanks in advance!
